Loving meeting people again

Classes began on 3rd January and I loived every minute of it. Thank you so much to those of you who came along. I'm sure more talking took place than crafting but thats what its all about. 

We made two birthday cards this time, nice and easy ones to make sure everyone was comfortable with the process. After a few years away this was a strrp learning curve for me too.

and then it was time for the first Scrapbook class on Saturday 6th January. Once again there was lots of chatter and it was fantastic to welcome every to class both old and new.

Two fairly easy layouts to start and there was plenty of time for everyone to work at their own pace. These are the two class examples.

If you would like to craft with like minded people then come and join us. Places are limited so you might not get a place straight away but there are classes planned all year so you will get a turn.

Face to face classes take place in Chatham, Kent but I also teach online classes for those of you father a field.

Time to go back to face to face classes

As those of you who follow me know I have been teaching classes online ever since the Covid outbreak started and it has been great fun however I really miss the chats and laughter of face to face classes so its time to make a change.

From 1st January 2024 I will be teaching one Card Class and one Scrapbooking Class each month on St Marys Island, Chatham, Kent. They will take place in The Crew Room near the basin and will be bookable from 30th November.

Card Classes will be £12.50 per session (2 1/2 hours) and will include a full kit, tuition, tea/coffee and cake or biscuits.

The first class will be on Wednesday 3rd January 2024 10am to 12.30pm

During the class you will learn to make two birthday cards using your kit. Please bring basic craft supplies with you ie cutter/scissors, glue etc

These classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced crafters and if this is the first time you have made cards then there will be plenty of craft tools for you to use during the class.

Scrapbook Classes will be £13.50 per session (3 hours) and will include a full kit, tuition, tea/coffee and cake or biscuits

The first class will be on Saturday 6th January from 10am to 1pm

During the class you will be taught two 8" x 8" scrapbook layouts (sometimes more depending on the difficulty of the projects) however the papers provided will be 12" x 12" so if you want to  make larger scrapbook pages you can.

These classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced crafters and if this is the first time you have made a scrapbook page there will be plenty of craft tools for you to use during the class.

Additional information

1.    Classes must be booked and paid for. Please do not turn up on the off chance as places are limited.

2.    Attending a class does not guarantee a place on the next class. This means everyone has a chance to attend a class at some point.

3.   A Facebook group will be set up so that I can let you know if you need to bring anything special with you on the day and to share pictures of the projects made in class. You do not have to join these groups if you dont want to.

4.   A small shop will be on site for anyone who wants it. I accept cash and card.

Finally just to let you know these classes are fun and ideal for meeting up and making new friends. I recently taught my first face to face class in New Romney and had an amazing day.

I need to update my blog more

 or so I've been telling myself for ages. Yes I'm back on here again after a long break but that doesn't mean i've been sitting around doing nothing. If you follow me on Facebook you will know that I have been teaching loads of classes online both during the Covid holidays lol and after. But enough of that la la la.

Here are a few of the projects we have been making to wet your appetite and I promise there will be loads more.

My classes begin every year and are taught using Facebook Live about twice a month. You can take place in the live classes or watch at a time suited to you. Details of the classes can be found in the link on the right hand side of this page.

So what have I been up to?

 Since March and the arrival of the dreaded Covid-19 I have been teaching online and doing my best to keep everyone motivated and occupied. Card classes started almost immediately as the face to face classes stopped and they have been taking place once per week until last week. Here are just a few of the cards, tags and projects we have all had fun making together

Only a few of them but you get the idea and they were mostly taught live first on the ladiesthatcraft facebook page and then as Christmas grew nearer I opened a Christmas Crafts Group also on Faceebook to do tutorials for all of this years festive fun.

The new classes for 2021 will be launched this coming week on ladiesthatcraft Facebook Live and details will also be posted on here.

Yes I have two addictions at the moment, the first is the amazing Pink Ink Design stamps and the second is MUGS.

I was at the crop at Crafty Friends The Oast at the end of February when I suddenly decided to see how hard it was to stamp on a mug. It took a bit of practise but it turned out great and I've been hooked ever since.

Here are the samples I have made for the class

which is being taught for the first time at Crafty Friends The Oast crop on Saturday 28th March.

I haven't shown the backs of the mugs yet so here are a few I have finished.

Long time no see.

I have been teaching free online Card and Scrapbook Classes on my ladiesthatcraft Facebook Group for the last 15 weeks infact ever since our first lockdown due to Covid-19.

Today was my first Card Class in the new group Christmas Crafts and we all had a great time.

As we are all still self isolating I thought I'd do a series of card classes on the Ladies That Craft Facebook page and then share them on here when they are complete.

This is the first class. Links at the bottom of this page will take you to two videos, the first is the Call To Class telling everyone what you need to get ready and this is normally done on a Tuesday. On the Thursday the live class begins and we work through the cards together. These are the two cards we made.

How to upcycle a Bisto Tin

I have really enjoyed taking empty containers and turning them into little pieces of art, so much so that I have created a little video to teach you how to play along.
This is what I made:

The video shows me making the seahorse container but you can make it with any stamp.

Birthday Girl

Last of the three cards this time round. I loved how easy this card was to make. It can be made using so many different dies, punches and dies and coloured in any colourway.

I added additional flowers to give more of a 3d effect without making the card too thick.

I'm planning to make more of these so I will share as they are completed and after card class of course xxx

Sending Hugs

Card two and this time I used an old free stamp from a magazine.Unfortunately I have not kept the name of the stamp but it has definitely become one of my favourites.

The sky was made using HobbyArt's cloud stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. 

I used Mowed lawn Distress Oxide for the grass and then punched out two different size red circles, crumpled them and stuck them to the front of the card using PVA glue. A black dot in the centre finished them off.

The two figures were coloured in using ProMarkers.

You can see this same idea used in my Art Journal HERE. 

Cool Mule

Card One from card class on 5th February and I used Pink Ink Designs wonderful Mule stamp and Marta Lapkowska's new stamp Flower Shine. 

Everything was coloured in using ProMarkers.

The mules head was decoupaged

and gems added to Marta's stamped background. Loved using both of these stamps. You can find links to the stamps below:

Boys Will Be Boys

Second layout for Scrapping Your Family and a really simple one this time. I love the bright colours and the simple shapes of the tree and the car. Great with the old photos of my boys. x

Our Mum

In 2020 I intend to do layouts covering all members of our family so that I can add to my Family Memory Album. Number one on the list was Our Mum especially with Mothers Day fast approaching. I thought perhaps this would be great framed and given as a gift.

This is layout number one for Scrapping Your Family on 1st February. 

The pink flowers are made from tissue paper painted with pale pink acrylic paint and when dry, crinkled and assembled into flowers.

The hydranga is a stamp and an EK Success confetti punch (as used in January's card class example)

 Only one of the two tags is removable. the other is stuck in place under the torn photo mat. X

I only teach one card class a month at present so I tend to give some choice when there are quite a few class mates.  Here are the selection from class on 5th January.
