Little Robin

My all time favourite bird and I will admit to being a bit of a collector as well . This little beauty was so easy to use. A little bit of colour and hey presto a lovely little Christmas card.
Card two and I'm making full use of my HobbyArt stamps. Especially love the greeting and it has so many uses.
Back to the Distress Inks to make this simple background and then a die cut silhouette of a graceful deer.
I hope your not getting bored yet because there are still loads more xx

Deer Deer

One of my favourite ways of making Christmas cards is to make use of background papers as focal points. It worked really well with this one.
This next card is so simple but so effective and very easy to make in batches.
And lastly a really easy card using an embossed background, two die cut berry branches and two tiny red birds.
A bit of glitter and bobs your uncle. Love it xx

Looking back

Loads of inspiration for Christmas cards still to come including a few from previous years. No excuses this year.
I'm making full use of my stencils and of course Distress Inks not Oxides this time.
An easy Santa card
And of course some cute penguins
Well not everyone likes Christmas lol xx

Family of Polar Bears

Same set as the Penquin from HobbyArt and can be used in so many ways.

This time I stamped them onto a white ovel, painted the sky with a wash and then decoupaged a baby polar bear ontop. The aim this time was to teachstamping using a mask.
we definately had some fun lol xx

Penquin in a Jar

What better gift to give a friend than a pcute penquin in a jar. This lovely little fellow is from a set by HobbyArt.

The jar, string of lights and holly are from the free A4 set of stamps that came with Creative Stamping magazine.
You cant see it in the photo but there is a piece of acetate over the penquin which gives it a 3D look. My favourite card so far this Christmas and I just love those penguins xx

Something More Modern

Traditional cards dont always suit everyone so I thought I'd make something a bit different.

I love using Kraft card so thats where I started.
The white detail was added with a white Signo pen and I believe the stamp is by Crafty Individuals. xx

Triple Snowflake Christmas

Love this die by Memorybox but its a bugger to get out. Yes I know, wax paper etc but it still sticks. I did however persevere and managed to cut out 48 for the card class but I don't think I'll be using it in class again lol. It will be interesting to see how the three people who later went out and bought it get on. Anyway, here is the finished card

I used pearlescent cardstock for the background which made the snowflakes stand out even more.
Note to self. Cut out all die cuts BEFORE making card for class lol. xx

If flowers were friends.....

So now time for a few cards made for the October card classes. Normally I do loads of glittery Christmas cards but this year I kept in mind that not everyone does loads of glitter infact not everyone does Christmas, so I added in a birthday card here and there just for good measure.

This is the first

made using the October stamp release by HobbyArt and one of my favourite stamp sets at the moment.
None of the image was stamped directly onto the card. I stamped and layered it in four separate pieces and put it together around the greeting. This allowed me to shape some of the leaves and flowers.

Fountain Card

I bought this Kaisercraft stamp a while ago but promptly lost it. It turned up quite by chance on one of my "must clear the craft room" days so I thought I'd better use it before it disappeared again.

The stamp design makes it so easy to colour
With a little bit of blue stickles to add a water effect and a tiny Happy Birthday stamp (Hobbyart) to finish it off
Have a great day xx

A Picnic with Ants

Here is another example of a card using this months Creative Stamping stamps. Even the tablecloth is stamped and i love the little cork screw.
But my favourite is the little ant stamp which makes the border around the card.
They are so cute and I'm sure, with the millions of ants I've got in the garden this year, that I will use this stamp again and again. xx

Happy Birthday in Silhouette

These silhouette stamps were also free in a magazine a few months ago. I have become quite a collector of these stamps as they are so useful to make a quick but dramatic card.

The background is made using Distress Inks.
Three colours were used to give the fiery effect but soft blues and greens would also work. Give it a go xx

Rainbows

As usual Creative Stamping have excelled themselves and this months new A4 sheet of stamps free with the magazine, are all usable. This was a technique card so that everyone could practise their masking.
The little gems used as raindrops finished it off nicely.

If you want to try some masking then you can watch my tutorial HERE .xx

Happy Birthday Flowers

The first of four cards made for last weeks Card Class. As there were four and normally we only manage three I made this one really simple. Using two papers from a paper pack you are guaranteed to find two papers that go together. Pink is normally not my thing but I quite like this
Loads of cards, tags and layouts uploading over the next 14 days so keep checking back xx

On Your Special Day

Yep its those bumble bee stamps again. I said I'd have to use them in Card Class and this is what I came up with.
Look at the tiny bees above the bee hive. Thats why I like this stamp set, Bees of all sizes for every eventuality. xx

Happy Birthday Kite

I very rarely use embossing folders. I have my favourites, about two or three, but in reality I rarely use any of the other 50 or so I have in my box. This cloud folder was at the bottom of the box and is great because it is square and just the right size for a 5" x 5" card
In class several people forgot to check which way up the card went so we had a few happy accidents but overall everyone was happy with the results and the kites were all different colours too..
One more card tomorrow. xx

Little Fish Happy Birthday

For some reason I have had a set of beautiful fish stamps which I have never used. I think they were a Woodware set and I came across them when I was sorting out my craft room (again).

This is the card I made for the card class last Thursday.
The porthole is raised on sticky foam pads and the colouring has all been done with Promarkers. With a few holidays coming up I'm sure I will be able to use the rest of the fish on a layout soon. xx

My Best Day Ever......

I have loads of seaside stamps. For some reason I am attracted to them but rarely use them on cards. When this beautiful set arrived in the post I just had to play and as it was card class the next day I made this simple card.
I am used to colouring with paint so I always find using marker much more challenging however in this case the detail on the stamp did most of the hard work. I eventually turned to my reliable white gel pen to make the foam on the waves and the seahorse border really finished it off nicely.xx

Blackberries

After making the Blackberry layout for the scrapbook class I really wanted to use the same theme in the card class. This is what I came up with.
I think this stamp will also do as a raspberry as well so watch this space. Loving these wonderful stamps by Sheena Douglas xx

Cassette Tape

An oldy but goodie, this would make a great card for someone who remembers the old cassette tapes. I remember dropping a cassette and all of the tape coming out and then using a pencil to wind it back up.

Again a stamp from Creative Stamping. I am definately going to use this on a scrapbook page.
The tape was made using a plastic bag cut into strips and coloured using a black Sharpie.

It was only in class that I realised I could have used a black plastic bag. Silly me xx

A little bird told me.....

If you follow this blog you will know that I am a big fan on the free stamps I get every two months on my Creative Stamping magazine. This beautiful floral wreath was on a set from a while ago however I spotted it in my stash and decided to give it a go.
If you look carefully you will see that the card on the right is stamped and coloured, so nice and simple. The card on the left has a decoupaged yellow flower and little twinkles on the gemsones to give it a lift.

If you added an extra bird I think this would make a great wedding invitation. xx
