Popstar

Still loving these gorgeous colours and this must be one of my favourite photos so far this year. Looks like we have a little star in the making lol.
I've used Katy Skiltons new Sizzix Die
and a bit of stitching as well
Now it's time to get cracking on the layouts for Saturdays Scrapping Your Family class. I love my job xx

Dream Big

Yes Spring is finally here so it's time to bring out some of the beautiful, cheery papers that are around at the moment. Here is the first layout from Tuesday Scrapbook Class.
The title is stamped with black Stazon onto acetate and the tags are stamped too.
While looking for the tag stamps I cam across a set of daisy stamps so I had to include them as well.
Spotted the stitching in the background? Yes they are stamps too xx

A Little Birdie told me....

This card was the most involved of the three and made entirely using the free stamps from the latest issue of Creative Stamping.
The stamps are good quality and stamp brilliantly using both Stazon and Memento inks and they are all big enough to be used on a scrapbook page.
Well worth the investment if you are a newbie and building up your collection of clear stamps.

Dance

It's a shame that this card hasn't photographed better. It is really effective and gave me a chance to let the ladies in class get their fingers inky lol.

I found stamping after the Distress Ink backgrounds had dried was the best way but as we were using Stazon some ladies tried stamping first and that worked well too.
I love the way the ballerinas, stamped off the circles, look like they are dancing in from the side of the card and being caught be the spotlights. xx

Little School Boy

I chose the School Boy stamp as the card is meant for a Five year old and starting school is something uppermost in any parent mind at this time.
The nice thing is that the uniform can be coloured in to match a new schools uniform.
Next card up will be for a special birthday. xxx

Robots for the Boys

Time for a boys card and couldn't think of anything better than these gorgeous robots. The stamps are an old set by Stampendous and the beauty of them is that all of the body parts come as different stamps so you can make each robot unique.
They even have a dog and a cat head so that the robots can have their own pets.
Isn't he cute. Another Boy card coming soon xx

A Mothers Love

With Mothers Day nearly upon us I thought I would make a layout to celebrate my mum. Believe it or believe it not that little dot in the photo is me. Can't believe I was ever that small.
For the decoration this time I used lace borders and flowers.
The background for each photo was made with scraps of material applied with soft gel medium.

and to finish I coated the paper frame with gold texture paste.
I've already made the main card for Wednesdays Card Class so I'm hoping to have some time to do some mixed media projects later this week.
If you have a few minutes to spare pop across to Julies Design Blog to see some of the projects I made while I was on the DoCraft Design Team. They will be on the blog over the next few days.
Thank you for looking. I appreciate any feedback or comments. xxx

Nature

So this Saturdays Scrapping Your Family class was an ideal opportunity to try out some different products and techniques. This week it was working with gilding flakes.
The idea was taken from a wall canvas I saw on Pinterest
The 3D circles were a bit tricky at first but everyone managed thanks to the fantastic sticky powers of a Soft Gel Medium.
The butterflies were stamped and then coloured in with Distress Inks.
A bit of stitching added another element to the background and the woven gold thread finished the leaves off.
The die cut leaves touched with gilding flakes finished the layout off. I really enjoyed making this one. I feel a canvas coming on xx

Life is the ART...

Tuesday nights Scrapbook class gave me the opportunity to start using the Graphic 45 Nature Sketchbook papers. The problem is that both side of all of the papers are gorgeous so which one to choose?  Solution use both, by cutting into squares and using the front for two and the back for to. Simple when you know how lol.
This layout is one for my album of my lovely Dad whom I still miss so much. I have been adding to it for a while now and as time goes on it does get a little bit easier but I still find myself talking to him. If he saw this he'd say "fame at last".

There really is very little you need to do with these papers as they are so gorgeous and detailed.

The little butterflies were punched using a Martha Stewart punch that I have had forever ans it's still one of my favourites.
And a little bit of thread detail always looks nice and finishes the layout off nicely. Thanks for looking xx
