Christmas Children

Lots of people had asked me to make a Christmas layout for younger children but everyone wanted specific things relating to their grandchildren/children included. With this in mind I decided to do two layouts, one girl and one boy, but to keep them really simple so that additional embellishments and wording could be added afterwards.
This is the boy layout.
With some of the detail (I used different punches for each one.)

Was really delighted that the bike border was part of this paper.
And then the little girl layout
Well every little girl loves a dinosaur right?

The photos for both of these were free images from the Internet because I am waiting to take some special photos this year.
So that's it, the last layout of 2016. Watch this space for new and exciting classes in 2017 plus don't forget to check out my own blog www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk in the new year as it will be a lot more active. xx

White Space Layout

Still loving white space and bright colours this year which I'm sure will carry into 2017. It is surprising just how hard classmates find it to leave an expanse of white on the page. This one was a real challenge lol.
The bright flowers were punched from coloured cardstock.
And a shield shape to add the journaling
The little design at the bottom of the page helped everyone to fill their pages a little bit more lol.xx

Ice and Snow

Couldn't find a winter paper that I liked this year so decided we would make our own in class by using snowflake die cuts.
This is a Sizzix Tim Holtz Die and comes with the die and an embossing folder which adds the detail to the white snowflakes.
I kept the lilac snowflakes plain and flat but raised the white embossed snowflakes on sticky foam pads.
Really enjoyed doing this. Will certainly be looking to making more of my own paper designs in 2017. xx

Sweet

Now this one was so hard to photograph and it really doesn't do it justice so sorry for that. The idea behind this class was to introduce gloss enamelling in readiness for a Creativity 101 class in 2017.
I found using Anitas 3D Gloss was best as it comes in a little tube with a fine nozzle.
And I didn't know whether to add the blackbird but in the end I decided it looked better with it.
So enjoyed making this one xx

Basil 2014

Now I have to be honest, I've had this pet paper for a quite a while but I didn't know whether to cut it up or use it as a background as it is quite busy. Decision made last Saturday as I used it for the second Scrapping Your Family layout.

and yes I do class my pets as family, after all they are with us all the time and certainly lead us a merry dance and so we need some sort of memory for when they are gone. (Don't worry, Basil is still very much around lol)

And some of the detail
Happy to use this cute little cartoon cat as well.
and a bit of bunting finished it off.
Don't forget to pop across to my Design Blog www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk  It's where I post all of the projects I don't make for class. xx

I have been doing loads honest

loads and loads of projects on the go at the moment but not many I can show as they are for Dt's. However the Scrapping Your Family group have been in full swing creating layouts last Saturday and having a bit of fun.

Here is the first layout we made
Everyone had a choice of papers in a variety of colours and we had some amazing results. I will post some of the finished work later this week.
Here's a bit more detail

Yes I still love the stitched circle stamps.
Second layout will be on here soon so keep checking back xxx

Seaside

Last of the five layouts from the Scrapping Your Family Special class. Nice and simple but effective I think. Can't believe I was ever that young. Such a long time ago but we had some fantastic family holidays.
This life preserver is made from circles and I added die cuts as embellishments.
By the time you see this I will be just back from my hols and ready to make all those Christmas goodies.

Watch out for the Art Journalling group starting in October and the Scrapbook Canvas class too.

Dymchurch Beach

Another Project Life compromise but think it looks lovely. Red and blue work really well together and make this layout pop.

Once again I used die cuts.

and some hand cut embellishments.

Will do this again xx

Family

Ok so I have no idea why I bought the Octopus stamps but they appealed to me and I am always on the look out for stamps I can use in my journal. In the end I think it made a great border for this family layout

The little die cut fish were a bit fiddly but they look great in a shoal

I also added some amongst the tendrils at the top of the page

My journaling was just the names of the people in the photo. I was cute when I was a little girl honest.

And I had to use the octopus in a diving suit stamp to finish it off. Well you have to right.

Loved this one xx

Beach

I di like Project Life and I have used it on many occassions but I do like my 12 x 12 pages for my family albums so I compromised and did this.

I used Die Cuts
Cut out stamped images
and paper clay embellishments
and beautiful papers by Craftwork Cards xx

The Girls

Every so often I hold a Scrapping Your Family Special. This one was held on Saturday 10th September and we made 5 layouts. This is the first
The photo is of my Nan and Great Nan walking along the beach in around 1965.
I used a unity stamp for the little girls and a mixture of bright papers. Simple but I love the contrast of the black and white photo against the bright yellows and reds. xx

A Lifetime

Hubby is always joking about his age and how things were back when he was born so I thought the second class layout should be all about him. Three photos from birth to now and tried not to joke about his little dress in the baby photo. Didn't succeed though lol.
The little film strips were stamped onto both sides of copy paper and folded nicely. Thicker card would not have worked so well.
The teddy bear on the paper is lush and I wanted to add another bear somewhere but none of the stamps I had were realistic enough so I left well alone.
It was a great opportunity as well to use my new Tim Holtz stencil and a bit of Distress Ink
And just love those stitching stamps. Always keep them nearby when I'm crafting.
More tomorrow as I've got loads to catch up on. Only I could plan 4 classes in 7 days. Muppet xx

So I Changed it a bit

The other half of the background paper I used for the first clock layout, had a beautiful pink flower on it so I decided to use that colourway to bring it all together.
This time the background was stamped with a butterfly stamp and I used a gold pen to colour the bodies of the butterflies
And the clocks now have pink flowers and softer tones.
But I couldnt find any of my remale relative quotes so I added additional wording in the centre.
So thats it. Two layouts and pleased with them both. Last layout of the three tomorrow xx

Love Clocks

This beautiful frame paper was high up on my list when I chose papers for last Saturdays Scrapping Your Family class.I think its really realistic and the colour is scrummy. So what to do.........we I did my grandfather first using the rich gold and red tones
I have got loads of male relative word stamps so I stamped them in black and then used a rich gold pen over the top to make them become part of the background.
A bit of gold on the edges and clock centres and it looked great.
and it gave me an opportunity to use my new background stamp picking out the tiny hears with a gold pen.
But then I started thinking.......this would look with a photo of my mum on it but it will need a bit of tweeking. Check back tomorrow to see what I came up with. xx
