Thought it was about time I did a HOME layout. The photo was taken 20 years ago just before we moved into our new home. Twenty years on we still live here and love it just as much.
All of the decoration was made by cutting flowers from one of the papers in the kit.
The letters were cut from two papers and I added a stamped area under the E in blue.
The piece under the picture was made using a moon shape piece of card so that it could be added afterwards especially for those in class who didn't bring a photo.
The journaling was added last with a couple of flowers to tie the layout together.
Over on my New Nanny Blog I have been adding the other two layouts that were made in these classes, using paper napkins. You can see them at www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk xx

2017 Scrapbook Page
Towards the end of the year I always like to do a few wintry layouts and one layout to celebrate a few memories from the year. Here is the one I did for 2017 but of course it can be adapted for any year.
Here is a bit more detail
and before anyone comments, I know the photos are not of this year but my printer has packed up lol. Lets hope Santa is reading this xx

This Picture Says It All
Fantastic stamps and dies from Stampin Up and so very easy to use. Made a very simple scrapbook page but I love it.
Using the black in for the background flowers really worked well and I added a little bit of sparkle by putting black sparklers into the centre of the flowers.
I printed out two identical photos, one in black and white and one in colour and then cut out the colour picture of my focal point.
Loving making my pages at the minute xx

Wild Child
I've seen loads of Dream Catcher cards and layouts recently so I thought it might be nice to make one for the Scrapping Your Family class and of course it was a fantastic excuse to use the Distress Oxides again.
The dream catcher itself was made using florist string which held its shape nicely. The best thing was that everyones looked completely different. Here are a few pictures taken on the day. The first two show how the dream catcher looks before the photo was added.
and here are a few of the rest. Don't they look fantastic.
Well done everyone. These all look amazing. xx

Seaside
This layout was done in a class a few months ago and it's taken me this long to find it again. I was, and still am, in love with everything sun, sea and sand. I have loads of dies, stamps and stencils which I use to make bright and breezy layouts however with this black and white photo of my mum and her sister and brother I thought I needed to tone it down a bit.
The two sea horses were stencilled onto black card and cut out. By turning one over I was able to add my journalling to the reverse.
I added hand drawn bubbles and a swirl stencil to create the background.
I used Distress Oxide Inks through seashell and starfish stencils to complete the look.
I love the Oxide colours but to make them brighter I spritzed with a fine mist of water to make them pop. xx

Love That Smile
Normally when I am asked to do a male layout I head for the deep blues and greys but I decided this month brighter is better and this was the result.
The beauty of this one is that you can use it for anything.....a celebration maybe or just for a favourite photo.
The star banner was first cut with scissors from the bottom of a sheet of paper
The little red hearts made up the rest of the detail made by drawing around a stencil. Hope you like it xx

The Great Outdoors
I'm back again, well behind as usual but with so much to share. This is a recent layout from class, the idea taken from a beautiful layout I spotted on Pinterest and just adapted to suit the style I wanted.
The fantastic colours of the new Distress Oxides made this layout and everyone really enjoyed the stamping and colouring.

The letters were also coloured using the ink pads as were the butterflies and the simple white paper flowers finished the circle nicely.
I did try using white cardstock for the journaling however the black worked much better and helped tone down the busy background.
In this next picture you can see where I dropped one of the inked stamps which is where I positioned the white flowers. Just to show how accidents don't have to spoil the final effect.
The stamping in the middle was done using the largest stamps first and then gradually filling in the gaps with the flowers getting smaller and smaller.
Layout two coming soon. Please leave a comment if you have the time. It's nice to know there is someone out there watching xxx

Still a big kid
I was at the Crafty club held at Rainham Oast House a few weeks back and I saw a stamp that I really liked but it was too small to use on a scrapbook page so I decided to draw my own instead. I sketched the garden chair first and then made it into a template to use in the class.
Everything on this page is either stamped, stencilled, punched out and/or coloured in.
Some of the stamps were from my stash but most of them were from free sets off of the front of magazines.
I especially loved making the little cushions to go on the chair behind the photo.x

Where have I been
I have been about but spending some time with family and having a bit of a break. Another two weeks before I start classes again so thought it was about time I caught up with the blogs. I have counted twenty two projects that need putting on here so without further ado lets start with
"Nothing Is Impossible"
Despite all of the wonderful, fussy layouts on Pinterest and other sites, I still love white space and I so enjoyed making this layout using my new "Beautiful You" stamps from Stampin Up and of course my new Distress Oxides.
I like the way the ink starts at the top of the title and gradually fades back to white.
And the little sign post made from scraps
and of course not forgetting the little fluffy clouds and wording stamps by Tracy Easson. Please with how this one turned out.x

Best Day
If this is your first time to this page then welcome. This is where I put the cards, layouts and mixed media projects that I make for my classes in the hope that it will inspire some of you to create and have fun.
I have just added a follow button to the right of this page so that you can get a heads up when I post so please feel free to follow me and if (in the next 20 years lol) I reach 100 followers I will do a giveaway to one of those people.
This is the second layout from last Tuesdays Scrapbook Class, designed for a wedding photo or perhaps a special occasion although this would fit any photo really.

I have used a black and white photo but included a coloured focal point , the flowers, so that I can remember the colours of the wedding.
I gave everyone the choice in class as to whether they colour in their stamped butterflies or left them black and white. I don't think anyone coloured them in although if you're reading this and you did please send me a photo.
If you are interested in any of my classes (listed on the right) please contact me for more information. I have another class on Saturday so onwards and upwards. Something different this time I think. xx

Wonderful
I decided it was about time that I did some technique work with the Tuesday night Scrapbook class so out came the Distress Oxcide pads and I began to play. This is the resulting layout.
It looks very simple however if you look more closely you will see that the shield shape at the centre of the card is cut from watercolour paper which works really well with the Distress Oxides.
I splashed droplets of the same inks either side of the photo and then used the splatters to make the centre of my hand drawn flowers.
The main flowers are from a stamp set called Hummingbirds which I bought off of eBay for about £3. I love a bargain.
The flowers and leaves are all coloured in using pro markers.

Love
I can't take credit for this layout. I saw the idea on Pinterest made by DC Tuckwell for Studio Calico and just fell in love with the simplicity of it. I've changed it a bit but I wanted her to have the credit for the design.
So here it is, my version
I've added some little cut touches like the little snail
the tiny tags (one for each of my lovely pussy cats)
and of course Basil (my youngest) leaping onto the page.
The design is now well and truly going round and round inside my head. I think it will be a great way to do travel layouts. Working on it now.
Back to cards tomorrow. xx

Growing Up Fast
Simple yet effective this was a favourite in class and suitable for any photo. I didn't choose flower colours for everyone, they all had a choice of colours and they all looked fantastic.
I think that the thing everyone found hardest to do was making the background stripes random in size without measuring. (Never a favourite lol)
There was also the opportunity to do a bit a doodling
and writing the journaling in both black and white was fun too. The font is both upper and lower case from DoCraft and I think, looks really good. More tomorrow. x

Laughing With Goofy
This was layout two from Tuesdays Scrapbook class. I have been playing around for a while now with different colours and themes to make Disney layouts and a mini book for my grandchildren who have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Disneyland.
I quite like the cartoon effect and I think the Mickey Mouse ears at the bottom works well but not sure about the green.
Oh well a bit more practise wont hurt lol. More tomorrow xx
