Life is about....

I just can't stop playing with the new Distress Oxide Pads so I am gradually sharing their qualities with all of my class groups. Dragging and stencilling was the name of the game this time. The pads drags easily across the page leaving a creamy ink behind. What I like is that the ink is still wet enough to go back with a bit of cut n dry and fill in any bits you missed.

This is the first layout from Tuesdays class.
Stencilling with the ink is also very easy and the stencils clean with a baby wipe after use. The main stamp is a cut down version of a Kaisercraft Stamp.

I am keeping a book now and adding uses for these amazing inks as I find them. I'm on 16 so far but there are many more to find I'm sure.

Great day at the Crop

I only hold two Crops per year normally and last time wasn't so busy but this time it was a full house and we had great fun. Everyone did their own thing, learning from each other and sharing ideas and of course, eating loads of cake.

Here are a few snaps of the day.
Sue making a scrapbook layout.
Pippa cutting card for England lol
Sally working in her journal
Rosemary making a book

Jakki making a mini book
Marilyn finishing off a mini book.
Dee making amazing paper art in books.

Lesley playing
Margaret finishing off some of her class layouts

There were many more but there just wasn't enough time to take any more photos.
Thank you to everyone who came along and to those who helped me clean up at the end. It was so appreciated and I couldn't have done it without you.

Watch out for the next one in a few months time. Well why not, it was a great day. xxx

Happy Birthday Sister

Loved using this punch. I borrowed it from my sister to make a card for my sister. Ironic lol.
The flowers were shaped using a foam mat and ball tool
and the actual background was a tiny stamped flower blossom coloured in red.
The little red flowers were added to the middle of each flower to bring everything together.
Scrapbook layout to share tomorrow and then watch out for pictures of our Crop/Craft Day on Saturday x

Wishes Birthday .....

Ok so when you make a card with three sections you don't stamp them before you add them to the card. No you add them to the card and then stamp them or at least get them in the right order before you stick them down. Silly me. Hence the title of this post and if you don't see my mistake the greeting should read Birthday Wishes....Birthday Wishes.

This was card two from the last card class.
These cute little stamps were free on a magazine a while ago and will be great on tags and ATC's in the future. Definitely one for the use again box.

Just Be Happy

Ooh been a bit lax with the blog over Easter but there has been so much going on and so little spare time (and so much chocolate lol). So back on the straight and narrow and I'm starting off with the first of three cards we made in the card class last week.
Yes you've guessed it, I made everyone play with the Distress Oxide ink pads. The idea was to show how easily these inks blend together. They feel creamy and move easily across the page. Love them.
Here's another version using an orange instead of the yellow.
The stamps are by Visible Image and are my favourites at the moment. I feel a scrapbook page coming on. More tomorrow xx

Our Lovely Weather Girl

Saturdays Scrapping Your Family class was a great opportunity to use the new Ranger Distress Oxide Pads. I made two layouts (the other one will be posted tomorrow) and I asked which was made using the new inks. Everyone got it wrong because they chose this one. There are two techniques on this layout using the new pads but the majority is made using the normal Distress Inks.
The sun is the Distress Oxide
and the stamped splat
but what stood out was the picture frame which took on a old distressed wood look and it was so very simple to do.
The more I play with these inks the more I love them.x
