Love

I can't take credit for this layout. I saw the idea on Pinterest made by DC Tuckwell for Studio Calico and just fell in love with the simplicity of it. I've changed it a bit but I wanted her to have the credit for the design.
So here it is, my version
I've added some little cut touches like the little snail
the tiny tags (one for each of my lovely pussy cats)
and of course Basil (my youngest) leaping onto the page.
The design is now well and truly going round and round inside my head. I think it will be a great way to do travel layouts. Working on it now.
Back to cards tomorrow. xx

Growing Up Fast

Simple yet effective this was a favourite in class and suitable for any photo. I didn't choose flower colours for everyone, they all had a choice of colours and they all looked fantastic.
I think that the thing everyone found hardest to do was making the background stripes random in size without measuring. (Never a favourite lol)
There was also the opportunity to do a bit a doodling
and writing the journaling in both black and white was fun too. The font is both upper and lower case from DoCraft and I think, looks really good. More tomorrow. x

May Your Wishes Come True

I absolutely fell in love with Katie Skiltons recent Sizzix release. I am so ready to make mini books and pages for my grandchildren but I thought I had better make a card for class first.
The circle dies created frames and decoration with the little gems looking like planets going round the sun.
Isn't she cute with the little gem necklace.
Back to scrapbooking tomorrow. xx

Happy Birthday Rose

Splitting the card this way opened up loads of possibilities and immediately had me thinking about wedding cards and invitations.
So easy to make and a good beginners card plus you could definitely make this one in bulk using a flower to suit your occasion.
Here's some detail
Another card tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend xx

Look Who's 70

I know I keep saying this but I really love the free A4 sheet of stamps that come with each
Creative Stamping magazine. This months issue had numbers and age related sayings which are fantastic for birthdays and anniversaries.

This is the card we made in class using heat embossing and using the technique shown in the magazine.

I wanted soft colours but obviously you could use any colour combination to suit the occasion.
and here's a closer look.
There are loads more cards and layouts coming over the next few days. Enjoy xx
